What we handle.

A trade show week is a group trip with a badge. You bring the badges. We handle where the team sleeps, how it gets around and where it eats.

Rooms first, and in Indianapolis that means the skywalk. Fourteen hotels are in the official block and eight of them connect to the convention center under cover, which in January is the difference between a walk and a problem.

Then the commute for whoever is not in a connected hotel, and the airport runs at both ends.

The tables. Downtown Indianapolis is compact and the good rooms go early when the show is in town.

And the Industry Celebration on Thursday night, which is the one evening everybody turns up to, so the dinner plans go around it rather than against it.

Who gets in

Trade show Thursday and Friday is members only. The Supershow Saturday and Sunday is open to the public.

Hours

Trade show 8:30 to 6:00 both days. Supershow Saturday 9:00 to 6:00, Sunday 9:00 to 5:00.

Official housing

Visit Indy runs the only official housing, fourteen hotels. The show warns about housing poachers, so a cold call offering rooms is not them.

Where to stay

Eight of the block hotels connect to the convention center by skywalk. In an Indiana January that is the difference between a walk and a problem.

Getting in

Indianapolis International, and downtown is a short run. Crews with cases get a van rather than three cars.

The evenings

The ATA Industry Celebration, Thursday 6:00 to 9:00 in the Sagamore Ballroom. Everyone goes. Book dinners around it.

What are the hours?

The trade show runs Thursday and Friday, 8:30 to 6:00. The Archery and Bowhunting Supershow runs Saturday 9:00 to 6:00 and Sunday 9:00 to 5:00.

Who can get in?

The Thursday and Friday trade show is members only. The Saturday and Sunday Supershow is open to the public. Same building, different crowd.

What is the one night everyone goes to?

The ATA Industry Celebration, Thursday 6:00 to 9:00 in the Sagamore Ballroom. Plan dinners before or after it, not through it.

Does it clash with anything?

It runs the same four days as the DSC Convention in Atlanta. If your team covers both, they are splitting up, and that decision is worth making in the autumn.
