Why work with us
You could do this yourself. Most of our clients did, for years.
An advisor earns the job in two situations. The trip has enough moving parts that somebody should be holding them together. Or the gap between the good version and the one you'll talk about for years comes down to knowing the place, and you have a job of your own.
What you're hiring is judgment. Some of it is first hand. Most of it comes from the network behind us: advisors who live in these places, the people who run the properties, and the partners we've quietly stopped booking. You can't shortcut that with a search.
What you won't get is twelve options and a request to sort them out yourself.
A straight answer
Two or three places worth your time, and which one we'd pick. You also get the flaw before you find it: the pool that's in shade by three, the drive that runs an hour longer than the map claims. Then we usually recommend the place anyway.
A trip shaped to you
Your pace. How far you'll drive before it stops being fun. Which days want a plan and which should be left alone. Who came along, and what they'd rather be doing while you're off doing your thing.
The logistics stop being yours
Connections, transfers, the reservation that has to be made ninety days out, the lodge that wants a flight number by Tuesday. We chase all of it.
Someone to reach
The car that doesn't turn up. The room that isn't the room you booked. You reach us instead of a phone tree, and every booking on the plan carries the property's or the partner's own line for the hours we can't.
What we plan
The five we see most.
- An event weekA trade show, a tournament, the big game, a festival. Someone else picked the city and the rooms are gone. Two of you or fourteen: rooms sorted by how you get there, a driver, the dinners, and a plan for whoever isn't going.
- The longer tripTwo weeks or more, a few places, maybe a few countries. The slow days where you'll want them, the drives where they make sense, and the stop we'd cut.
- The one you keep meaning to takeThe lodge you've talked about for years. The anniversary somewhere neither of you has been. Send the idea and we come back with the season, the place and the one thing to know.
- The whole gangBachelorette and bachelor trips, babymoons, reunions, milestone birthdays, the friends trip. A house or connecting rooms, the cars, the fridge stocked, days where everyone does their own thing, and a dinner where they all turn up.
- A summit or offsiteThe lodge with a room to meet in, the vans, the dinners, and a one-page summary for whoever approves it. One plan the whole team can see.
If yours isn't one of them, send it anyway. If it's somewhere we haven't been, we know someone who has.
When to skip us
When we're not worth it.
Two nights in a city you know cold. A points booking you've already worked out. The beach week that comes as a package. Book those yourself and keep us for the trip you'll still be telling people about in five years.
I like doing my own research
Keep doing it. Most of our clients turn up with a list. Half the job is telling you which three of your twelve are worth the time, which one photographs better than it lives, and what you've missed a mile up the road.
Do you only take on big trips?
No, and there's no minimum. The interesting version of a place is often not the expensive one.
We don't know where we want to go yet
That's a normal place to start. Tell us the month, roughly how long you have and one trip you've loved. We come back with two or three directions to choose from.
What about the points on my credit card?
Use them on the flights. That's where a premium card is hard to beat. For the hotels and the rest of the trip, book through us where it makes sense: that's where the planning, the partner benefits and someone to call come in. If your card's travel desk quotes a stay, send it over and we'll put our option next to it. Now and then the card wins, and we'll say so.
Will I still earn my hotel points?
Yes. You pay the property directly, your loyalty number goes on the reservation, and points and status apply as they would booking direct. Where a place isn't in a loyalty program at all, which is true of a lot of the interesting ones, we tell you before you book.
I found it cheaper somewhere else
Send it over. Sometimes it's a prepaid rate you can't get back when the dates move. Sometimes it's the room over the loading dock. Now and then it really is better, and we'll tell you.
