January 2027 is a collision
Two shows land on the same four days, and two more overlap by three. If your company covers more than one, the decision is already late.
Atlanta, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Nashville · September 2026
Four shows, two weeks, one problem.
We pulled the 2027 dates off every organiser’s own site this week. Two things fell out that are worth knowing now rather than in November.
The DSC Convention and the ATA Show run the exact same four days. January 7 to 10. DSC is in Atlanta, in Building C at the Georgia World Congress Center. ATA is in Indianapolis. There is no version of the week where one person does both.
SCI overlaps SHOT by three days of four. SHOT runs January 19 to 22 in Las Vegas. SCI runs the 20th to the 23rd in Nashville, and its evening programme runs from the 19th through the 24th. The only way to do both is to leave Vegas on the Friday night or the red eye and land in Nashville for the closing Saturday.
What that means if you send more than one person
Somebody is splitting up, and the split has to be decided before the flights make the decision for you.
If your team covers DSC and ATA, that is two cities, two hotel blocks and two sets of dinners in the same week, booked by different people unless one person owns it. The Atlanta side has a wrinkle the Indianapolis side does not: the DSC floor is in Building C and the big nights, Conservation Night on the Thursday and Advocacy Night on the Saturday, are at the Signia by Hilton next door. Pick the room for the evenings, not the floor.
If your team does SHOT and SCI, the useful thing to know is that SCI does not use a housing company. The convention holds rooms at nine downtown hotels and you book those directly, and one of them was already sold out when we checked. A Saturday-only stay after a Vegas week is a different booking from a full convention week, and it is cheaper if someone asks for it that way.
The rest of the year, while we are here
- Great American Outdoor Show, Harrisburg, February 6 to 14. Nine days. Hotel booking is already open, and several partner hotels run their own shuttle to the Farm Show Complex.
- NRA Annual Meetings, Atlanta, April 23 to 25. Same building as DSC in January, which means anything you learn in January is worth remembering in April. The onPeak block is open.
- Blade Show, Atlanta, June 4 to 6, at Cobb Galleria. Not downtown. A downtown room is a mistake you make once.
- ICAST, Orlando, July 13 to 16. Three hotels are a walk from the South Concourse. The rest are a shuttle, in Florida, in July.
- SEMA, Las Vegas, November 2 to 5.
- NASGW had not posted 2027 when we checked. We are watching it.
What to do about it now
Decide who goes where in the first week, because two of these shows are competing for the same people on the same days. Then ask about rooms early, because the walkable hotels go first.
Send us the headcount and the shows, and we will come back with the rooms, what the walk actually is from each, and the cancellation terms in writing. If your company block already covers the rooms, keep it, and we will handle the rest of the week around it.
Dates and hours here come from each show’s own site, checked on September 21, 2026. Organisers move things. We check again before anyone books.
